Service Dept. Repair Estimator
Purpose and Scope
The Service Repair Estimator is responsible for pricing repair quotes for the Service Department. The
Service Repair Estimator is also responsible for ordering parts for approved repair quotes and for sending down payment invoices. The Service Repair Estimator will also aid in the quoting of installs from time to time as well as all other tasks assigned by your supervisor.
Schedule
The hours and days of work are as needed and at the direction of Blauch Brothers, Inc. Service Installation Estimator. Hours may be changed (increased or decreased) by Blauch Brother’s Inc. Service Installation Estimator as required. Typically, this position will require between 40-45 hours a week.
This will typically be a Monday through Friday role, working five 8-9 hour days from 7:30AM to 4:30PM.
Responsibilities
Daily

Review new quotes that have come in
-
Gather pricing for quotes in a timely manner

Go over quotes with supervisors to make sure all materials and equipment are accurate and that all safety measures can be followed to perform the work

Send out quotes that have been approved from supervisors in a timely fashion

Approve quoted jobs
-
Generate down payment invoices for approved quotes and send out

Order parts for quoted jobs that have been approved

Work with supervisors and dispatch with scheduling
-
Follow up on quotes that have been sent
-
Follow up on what parts have come in for quotes to be ready to schedule

Assist Service technicians by ordering parts as needed
-
Update spreadsheet to track quote acceptance rates

Check to see if down payments have been paid
-
Read daily HVAC/R training email

Perform other company related duties as requested or required from time to time

Answer overflow phone calls and backup dispatch in creating work orders and purchase orders
Weekly

Place Consignment order

Update approved quotes/parts on order sheet for supervisors and dispatch

Follow up with progress of jobs

Follow up with vendors on pricing that is still outstanding

Follow up with vendors on credits that haven’t come through

Assist generating quoted jobs throughout Service Department

Have ongoing follow up interaction with customers for quoted repairs
Monthly

Review status of quoted jobs
-
Check with warehouse to see what needs to come/go from warehouse

Fill out warranties for parts orders
-
Check for monthly TUG Trainings that would be beneficial to participate in

Communicate appropriately with supervisor regarding job issues, requests for sick or vacation leave, or other job related matters
Quarterly

Review sales to see if quotes are on track to meet goals
Annually

Participate in annual review of self

Check for training programs that would help me grow in my position/with the company

Perform yearly audit for consignment pricing
Generally

Arrive to office on time and leave at the end of designated work day

Provide leadership regarding safety regulations and policies including utilizing and instructing others in the safe and appropriate use of tools required for the job

Develop/maintain a good customer relationships

Identify and implement cost effective procedures as appropriate

Support Service Dept. Management team with administrative duties as needed

Interact with customers in order to ensure we exceed their expectations while maintaining profitability

Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing

Supports and participates in The Unified Group, trade and peer groups, through attendance at training events, communication via email and responding to other members.

Perform any and all other duties assigned by the Blauch Brothers, Inc. Service General Manager or Service Project Coordination

Additional Requirements

Valid Virginia Driver’s License required along with an acceptable driving record as defined by our insurer, must have/pass acceptable criminal background check
-
2-3 Years of HVAC and or Plumbing field experience preferred
