COMMERCIAL HVAC TECHNICIANS 
(HARRISONBURG & WINCHESTER)

Job Description:

Purpose and Scope: Our HVAC Service Technicians are dedicated to providing comprehensive HVAC service and repair to industrial and commercial customers in west central Virginia. They not only deliver exceptional quality service and repair but also act as a crucial link between the customer and our company, identifying potential opportunities. Our technicians possess a diverse skill set, enabling them to install and service various commercial systems such as chillers, boilers, and VRF units. They handle both simple and complex installations and repairs. Additionally, our technicians prioritize building trust with customers by effectively communicating technical knowledge, offering decisive solutions, showing empathy and concern, and providing regular updates on job progress and timelines. As part of their responsibilities, HVAC Technicians may also assist with other assigned tasks from their supervisor.

Normal Work Schedule: The typical schedule for this position is 40-45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with 8 to 9 hours worked each day. However, please note that there may be occasional changes to the hours and days of work based on the discretion of Blauch Brothers, Inc., to accommodate customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

​

Daily

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and other tasks on commercial HVAC systems in the Shenandoah Valley.

  • Maintain a positive representation of Blauch Brothers, Inc. through professional appearance, behavior, and technical expertise.

  • Complete timesheets and service tickets promptly after each service call and at the end of the workday, including obtaining customers' signatures.

  • Organize and prioritize work sites to meet goals and allocate work hours effectively.

  • Ensure all work is performed accurately and in accordance with Company standards.

  • Adhere to safety standards outlined by OSHA and Company policies.

  • Provide necessary quotes to customers as required.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, including owners, property managers, and maintenance managers.

Weekly 

  • Care and Maintenance of Company Property:

    • Ensure proper care and maintenance of Company-owned property, including vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.

    • Follow maintenance guidelines for Company vehicles and keep them in the requested condition.

    • Secure and lock tools, equipment, and materials in the truck or on the job site at the end of each day to maintain their safety and integrity.

Monthly 

  • Engage in training opportunities, both formal and informal, to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Ensure proper execution of assigned monthly preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Actively participate in departmental safety meetings to promote a safe work environment.

​

Annually

  • Participate in the annual review process.

 

General

  • Work towards obtaining professional licenses or certifications.

  • Assist in training other technicians.

  • Provide clear instructions to apprentices and ensure their work is done accurately.

  • Successfully troubleshoot service calls and seek assistance from other team members as needed.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatch regarding job issues, time-off requests, or other work-related matters.

  • Maintain effective communication with internal team members, including the Service HVAC Supervisor, dispatch, Service General Manager, Project Managers, Engineer, etc.

  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings.

  • Perform work in compliance with current codes, industry best practices, and job specifications.

  • Support and engage with professional collaboration organizations, trade groups, and participate in training events and communication via email.

 

Organizational Relationship

  • The Service HVAC Tech reports to the Blauch Brothers, Inc. Service HVAC Supervisor.

  • The Service HVAC Tech may supervise apprentices when assigned.

Salary: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
